Artist's Comments: Hmm, finally, a picture of Undine from the Seiken Densetsu series that isn't SD! Just started out as a "transform from SD to slightly Amano-like" experiment gone good!

Kon Says: This pic turned out pretty nice... she has sort of an "attitude"
which I think fits pretty well. Hmmmm... as to improve this.. the first thing
that strikes me is the line work.. they are a bit haphazard and need to be more
consistant. Some are too "fuzzy", too dark, broken and maybe even too thick.
Though this can be done successfuly if it has some kind of pattern and handled with
care. Like say... darker lines at the area you want to focus on more... like the
face.. then fade off the lines toward the tails. Overall.. nice pic and I like
the color scheme... =D

^Merle^ Says: I'm not sure how you did this, perhaps in Painter? The image
looks sorta.. fuzzy. =} It gives it an underwater feel, actually, but in some says,
I think there needs to be more detail in her eyes and scales. The general form of
the picture is quite good, but the lack of definition is a little distracting =} If
I knew how you went about making the picture, I could more easily critique it =} My
only suggestions are if you make the lines thinner with a thinner pencil or a
larger piece of paper... if you drew it right onto the computer, perhaps making it
on a larger image than resizing it smaller would help, since that will make the
lines thinner and more defined. Myao.

Nicole Eng Says: Ooh, I really like this pose for Undine - she looks quite
powerful and nonchalant about it. Nice proportions, you have everything in the
right place. However, there's a problem with her hands - I think you have drawn two
left hands for her? You can fix that easily by just overlapping the staff handle
over the lower hand (it'll look like you drew it the right way).
As for your coloring technique, the lines are too fuzzy, but the soft coloring
inside these lines is nicely done. I think that this image would be very improved
if you sharpened up those lines to give a more defined image. The 'underwater'
excuse for the softness could work, but I would use it sparingly. You can have the
lines sharp for everything that should be in focus, like the body and the trident,
and have the blurring effect start to come in around the bottom of the tail (to
make it look like the tail is bending farther away and moving)
Overall, this is a very nice image! Good choice for a subject - I don't see too
many seirei images floating around. It was nice to see an original interpretation
of Undine. :)
