    Forum Rules

Rules were last updated on October 13, 2001! Please note, in order to assure that all BBS users are aware of the new rule additions, we've inserted this page before the actual BBS.

There's been a general agreement by REFFs and BBS moderators that it would be best to leave this page in front of the actual BBS, so here it will remain...please do NOT directly link the BBS!

+++[The Consequences]+++
[introduction posts] [-no spamming] [+only polite speech] [+only polite subjects] [-no uninvited crits] [-no hi res images]

BBS Procedure: Inappropriate BBS posts/threads discovered by the REFF will be deleted immediately, and the BBS user will be warned. If a message on the BBS is offensive, insulting, or otherwise uncalled for, it will be deleted by a moderator and the poster warned via the message function. Ignoring a warning will constitute a ban from the forum later on. Be warned that we may have to delete whole threads, so don't waste your time replying to any inappropriate BBS messages...you may just be deleted along with the offender. Instead, report the incident to a REFF or moderator, either by e-mail or by the BBS message function.

  • INTRODUCTION POSTS. (modified 10/13/01) Due to continuous violations of our previous no-newbie-post rule, we have decided to allow one-time introduction posts in the new Introduction forum. Please post your introductions (ex: pertaining to "Hi I'm new") ONLY in this forum. If an introduction post if found anywhere else, we will forgive you and move it to the forum, but if this becomes a repeat offense by board members we will begin auto-deleting them.

  • NO SPAMMING. We do NOT allow threads here that are posted solely for advertisement, whether it be for recruitment, for a website, or any kind of personal or public project. The REFFs do not like the kind of atmosphere these posts tend to generate, and also believe that it defeats the purpose of this friendly community.

  • BE COURTEOUS. Use common sense — no insults or excessive swearing. And absolutely no racism and discrimination allowed on this forum! Also, clearly warn about spoilers or generally offensive contents. These include all sorts of spoilers (manga, anime, game, etc.), nudity, erotic contents/hentai, intensely graphical violence, etc.

  • AVOID discussing any EXTREMELY CONTROVERSIAL subjects. This can include religion, ethnicity, or even current events which involve clashing viewpoints. We've all learned about these things in school. Our viewpoints are our own, and trying to convince someone to change their belief over a BBS is futile, not to mention pointless. Don't do it.

  • IMPORTANT: Do not post images over 700 pixels wide! If you have an image that exceeds 700 pixels in width, please link to the image using [url] tags, and refrain from using [img] tags. Also, do not post images/files over 130KB. Again, if a file/image exceeds 130KB, link to it using [url], and please specify the filesize!

  • No uninvited criticism. Please do not critique any artwork unless it is in the 'Art Critiques' forum. Also, do not critique any religion, personal belief, opinion, etc. unless it is clearly asked for. Also, please do not repeatedly spam the board with art plugs and demand feedback. Both actions could get a poster reprimanded. Use common sense and courtesy.

  • Show consideration for ALL visitors. There are no set subject matter rules on the TAC BBS. however, know that our target audience ranges from the ages of early teens (i.e. 13 - 18) to the twenties (20 - 28) and come from all types of backgrounds and beliefs. Therefore, it is vital that we all show courtesy and understanding by keeping things a general G-rating, and using clear spoiler/possibly offensive 'markers' in your message if the need comes up.

  • (Suggestion) Take TAC, the TAC BBS, and your fellow posters seriously. If you post simply to mock someone, a group of people, or the BBS as a whole you will not be appreciated by the rest of the community, and will probably be reported by annoyed peers.

  • (Suggestion) Modesty is the key! Unless you're world famous (in which case, welcome oh great one ^_^) don't sashay around the board thinking that you're the greatest or your art's the greatest...or at least, don't verbally express it. We REFFs have seen a lot of things and we guarantee you this will instantly aggravate your peers and make your social rating plummet!
